Results For Round 20 Of The 2010 AFL Season

There’s just one match to go in the 2010 AFL Season, and as round 21 took to the ovals over the weekend the top eight practically became secure.

Geelong opened the proceedings by sending a warning to fellow AFL contenders as they dominated Carlton on Friday night. The Cats paid well to punters at with a stunning 42-point win as they headed into the match favourites at $1.17.

Gary Ablett and James Podsiadly kicked four goals each, with Podsiadly set to come under scrutiny with a possible suspension on the cards.

St Kilda continued the motion of the favourites winning, as they defeated Richmond by 21 points on Saturday afternoon. The Saints started slow – perhaps overconfident? – but came good in the fourth term to power forward for the four points.

Hawthorn vs Fremantle paid well at Hawthorn were favourites to claim the victory, and that they did – by a huge 116 points. The result saw Fremantle swiftly fall into sixth place – two points ahead of the Hawks – and appeared to have lost their strength and dominance from earlier in the season.

The crucial fixture of the weekend was Saturday night’s clash between Collingwood and Adelaide. The Pies secured a three-point win over the Crows, which crown them as the Minor Premiers, for the first time in 33 years.

Collingwood only led for nine minutes of the entire fixture – which proves what a strong side they are – they win when they need to.

The final round of the 2010 AFL Season will bounce off on Friday evening at the Subiaco Oval, when Fremantle welcomes Carlton. This will be your last time to wager on the 2010 AFL regular season, so don’t miss out at!
