2014 AFL Round Four Betting Preview

The 2014 AFL Season is really getting into gear and already there are plenty of clubs under pressure that need to record a win in round four.

The Carlton Blues and Adelaide Crows were expected to be finals contenders in 2014, but are yet to record their first win of the season, while the Brisbane Lions and Melbourne Demons are yet to trouble the scorers this season.

Our team of sports betting experts have analysed all nine game taking place during round four of the 2014 AFL season and have come up with their best bets of the weekend.

Friday – Richmond Tigers vs Collingwood Magpies

Richmond Tigers have a terrible record against the Collingwood Magpies in the last decade and have not scored a win against their Melbourne rivals since 2007.

The Tigers task was made a great deal tougher when club stalwart Brett Deledio was ruled out of the clash due to injury and Collingwood looked to have found form after they pushed the Geelong Cats all the way last weekend.

The Tip: Collingwood by 18

The Bet: Collingwood to beat the spread (-7.5 @ Ladbrokes.com.au

Saturday – Gold Coast Suns vs Hawthorn Hawks

The Gold Coast Suns have made a strong start to the 2014 AFL season, but face a tough test against the undefeated Hawthorn Hawks, who sent a scare through the rest of the competition with a dominant win over the Fremantle Dockers last weekend.

The Hawks will be hoping to build on their strong start to the season leading into their Easter Monday blockbuster with Geelong in Round five and should be able to run over the top of the Gold Coast in the second half on Saturday night.

The Tip: Hawks by 37

The Bet: Hawthorn to beat the spread (-24.5 @ Ladbrokes.com.au)

Sunday – North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Port Adelaide Power

The North Melbourne Kangaroos showed the character they had been lacking at the start of the season to score an impressive win over the Port Adelaide Power last weekend and they will head to Sydney with plenty of confidence.

The Sydney Swans finally got their account started for 2014 with a win over the Adelaide Crows, but still did not look overly impressive and talk of dissention in the locker room has continued.

This game should be a very tight contest and bookmakers have underrated North Melbourne in betting markets for this clash.

The Tip: Sydney by 2

The Bet: North Melbourne to beat the spread (+17.5 @ Ladbrokes.com.au)
